Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu

Gi and No Gi

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) has gained a lot of attention in recent years, and it’s pretty obvious why. Made for the real world, BJJ is a form of self defense that every person should master. BJJ focuses on ground level altercations – utilizing holds, throws, blows, and a variety of submission techniques. This makes jiu jitsu ideal when learning how to take on an opponent who may be larger than you, without necessarily having to hurt them.

Wrestling

Our wrestling class is the perfect supplement to any and all of the martial arts you practice. This course teaches basic grappling movements such as throws, takedowns, and pins. The techniques behind wrestling are found throughout many different martial arts, so it’s no surprise that many professionals feel athletes with a solid base in wrestling bring unique advantages and attitudes to the martial arts.

Kickboxing/Muay Thai

Though there are many sports and martial arts that teach self-defense skills, Muay Thai provides benefits that other athletic disciplines can’t brag about. Muay Thai is a full-contact sport that taps into every part of the body while fighting. (Hey, it’s not called “the art of eight limbs” for nothing!) Muay Thai teaches its practitioners how to strike with immense power, fight from the perfect distance, carefully use footwork to your advantage, and rely on instincts in situations of anxiety.

Mixed Martial Arts (MMA)

With each punch, kick, and block, mixed martial artists are using every part of their bodies. Given this, it should come as no surprise that MMA is one of the most effective ways to build and tone muscles throughout the entire body. Through weight training, cardio exercises, and grappling, Clever Combat Jiu-Jitsu & MMA’s MMA students quickly develop newfound strength, endurance, balance, and coordination with every class. MMA training is intense, but it’s incredibly rewarding and will leave you with results that are sure to lead you to success in any style of martial arts you may practice.
